We also train on-site coordinators to provide the program to their residential community. SEI provides project-based learning curriculum on energy, water, waste and transportation as well as resources such as home sustainability surveys to educate children in the affordable housing after school and summer programs. These programs often culminate in youth leading a sustainability fair for the community.
One of the over-arching goals of the program is to achieve meaningful reductions in greenhouse gas emissions by implementing project-based learning in existing summer programs in '"impacted communities."
Through the years, SEI has worked extensively with Mercy Housing, Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco, Marin City Recreation and Community Development Corporation and is forging a new partnership with Asian Neighborhood Design.
