The goal of this project was to provide information and resource about clean energy career options to potential job seekers.
SEI developed 6 short videos and accompanying text designed to engage and involve dislocated workers in the clean energy sector. The goal of the videos is to interest dislocated workers in the clean energy sector by providing peer-to-peer information about what specific jobs entail. Through the videos, viewers can view clean energy employees on the job, talking about their jobs. The accompanying text provides descriptive information about clean energy sectors and visitors will be able to read more detailed information about the specific job sector.
In addition to the videos, SEI designed and delivered two workshops to introduce dislocated New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc workers to the clean energy sector and emerging job markets. The workshops were delivered in June and August of 2010. Each workshop provided a brief overview of Green Sector careers and markets, and included an industry panel on market trends, and job opportunities. Participants had time following the overview and panel to talk in small groups with industry representatives about their respective career options.
